Since September 2013 Prof. Dr. Aktas holds the Chair for Mergers & Acquisitions at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He is also co-director of the Executive Education Program for Mergers & Acquisitions at WHU. He previously worked at Skema Business School (France), EMLYON Business School (France) and Louvain School of Management (Université catholique de Louvain). Prof. Dr. Aktas is known for its research articles on Mergers & Acquisitions, which have been published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Economic Journal, Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Banking & Finance. His research has been featured in the programs of leading international conferences and has been cited in widely circulated international media such as the Financial Times, the New York Times and the Süddeutsche Zeitung. From 2001-2002 he was a visiting scholar at the Anderson School of Management (UCLA, Los Angeles). Prof. Dr. Aktas is also a member of the board of directors of Pulcra Chemicals.
